October 2014


The WI centenary baton began its journey in June 2014 at the AGM, visiting each Federation across the UK before ending its journey in June 2015 at that year's AGM.


Our President, Margaret, become Magician's assistant during the Cambridge Federation's Baton handover celebration tea..... the Baton was handed over from Cambridge to Huntingdon

October 2014


Cambridge Federation spends a week taking the baton round to each WI within the Federation.... it's a beautiful dry week .... untl the Baton reaches our WI .... the heavens open a terrific deluge of rain the brollies go up .......

Then there was a brief pause in the weather, with typical WI spirit, down went the brollies, up went the camera, and hey presto, the photo became reality!

The President of Cambridge Federation reflecting with Margaret our President on the achievement received .... I think a collective sigh of relief was shared .....

Buckingham Palace Garden Party - June 2015


Sheila (King) and Heather attended the Buckingham House Garden Party to celebrate 100 years of the WI ....they had a very pleasant afternoon holding onto their hats!, having tea and sandwiches, walking around the gardens and grounds and listening to the band ...


Centenary Annual Meeting - Royal Albert Hall  - June 2015

Sheila (Willson) attended the Centenary Annual Meetng on behalf of Fulbourn WI and Cherry Hinton WI.   A long jam packed day (pardon the pun) was filled with royal visitors, 5,000 WI members in attendance, a fashion show, three ive link-ups to WIs across the country, and speakers including Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson and Dr Lucy Worsley.  The full proceedings can be viewed here via utube:
